I bought these for my 12-year-old son who plays lacrosse and hates getting his knees torn up on the turf/field. He does face offs, too, so he spends a lot of time on or near the ground. He had been wearing UA Cold Gear full-length leggings under his shorts, but when the weather turned and got hot, those were no longer practical. I was nervous about getting these due to various reviews about them ripping, but thought that we would get one pair and give it a try.After about 10 games/practices (and washing after each one), these leggings are still going strong and have no holes. No more turf burn on his knees, either! The leggings took a beating, too. In one game, the opposing team couldn't beat him on the face off so the kid knocked him down and stepped on him with his cleats. My son had crazy bruises (grrrrr.....), but no holes in the leggings. My son also said that the leggings are not hot - he has worn them happily in temperatures of up to 90 degrees.These are long on my son - he is 5' and they go down to an inch or two above his ankle. So, he has room to grow. :)Great purchase - I am expanding our colors and hope to have the same success with future pairs!
