I have an older 12 ton Multi-Max lowboy gooseneck trailer from Econoline that uses 14.5" tires to keep a low deck height. Good highway capable tires are getting hard to find for 14.5" wheels, and while I would have liked load range G, these Power Kings receive good reviews on many different sites so I decided to try them out. Using a Harbor Freight tire changer, I installed 8 of these onto my trailer rims. It was quite the challenge. They arrived a bit flattened (like they were at the bottom of a big stack), and the 12 ply sidewalls do not have much give to get the beads seated. Leaving the tires in the sun for a day with some creative sidewall stretching using a few 2x4's made things a lot easier. The tires all look good and uniform and are a very obvious upgrade over the Kelly's I had that were spitting gators. However, despite the old and new tires both being 8-14.5, the old tires had approximately 3/4" wider tread width. Height/diameter is the same. While more rubber on the road is rarely a bad thing, I do not consider this to be a huge deal, but is worth noting.Time will tell how long these last. There are cheaper 14.5" tires out there that claim to be for highway use, but these definitely are, and Power King has a decent reputation. For anyone else in a similar situation as me with an Econoline lowboy trailer, I contacted Econoline and they have "kits" for converting our old trailers to use 16" rims. The leaf spring hangers must be replaced, and obviously new rims. The deck height will raise 1.5"-2" with the larger wheel/tire assembly. While these appear to be good tires and I expect to get many, many years out of them, when the time comes for another replacement it is worth considering.Used to replace old dry rotted tires on a mobile home in order to move to a new location. Worked great.Bait and switch. I specifically shopped for tires that matched the others on my trailer. Payed extra for Power King 8x14.5 lowboy tires and eTrailer sent Homaster mobilehome tires.I was very satisfied with the price and quality of these tires. Used four of them on a flatbed trailer. They ended up looking really sharp and sealed well on the rims. Ride feels smooth.
